In 1982, Krotzer Construction relocated to Akeley, Minnesota. Upon learning the town's history, Dean Krotzer decided to build the world's largest Paul Bunyan statue. What started off with a sketch ended up becoming a 30-ft tall statue. Dean and his sons donated all the labor to construct the statue which was their way of saying thanks for being welcomed to the new town they would call home.
